A celebration of the very deserving Unite-CPHVA 2024 Excellence award winners and highly commended entries.
The anticipation had been building for months. Finally, the winners of the Unite-CPHVA Excellence awards were announced on the first night of the Unite-CPHVA Annual Professional Conference, 6 November 2024.
There was a palpable buzz in the room, as delegates gathered for a celebratory evening to recognise all that is outstanding about community practice. Music and chatter filled the space, as food was eaten, glasses were clinked and the big reveal approached. As each name was read out, the joy, excitement and pride was clear.
The standard of entries was high in the first ever Unite-CPHVA Excellence Awards, and so there were several highly commended entries, and even a joint winner for the team category.
CPHVA honorary vice-president, Professor Dame Elizabeth Nneka Anionwu, presented the glass etched trophies to the winners and certificates to the highly commended entries, adding to the prestige of the event.
The evening itself was warmly hosted by Unite lead professional officer Obi Amadi (who was surprised by colleagues when she received the Unite-CPHVA Cavell award), and a lot of fun was had.
In addition, two long-service awards were given out to two highly commended entries (see page 35). This is another chance to congratulate all those awarded and highly commended on the evening and a thank you to all who took time to enter in the first place. Congratulations everyone!
