Scotland: New learning hub for professionals to improve public health

10 January 2022

Public Health Scotland (PHS) has launched an online public health learning hub to support people working in public services.

The aim is to allow people working in local government, the NHS itself, and third-sector and community-based organisations to learn more about the factors that influence health, and to ultimately improve population health and reduce health inequalities.

The hub is evidence-informed with examples of real-life practice to engage learners, including talking heads, animations and reflective activities.

Director of place and wellbeing at PHS Claire Sweeney said: ‘Our aspiration is for a public health system in Scotland that is ambitious, and is supported by a diverse range of people who can all actively play their part in improving the health and wellbeing of more people in Scotland.’
