Funding boost for QNI community nurse support line

19 March 2021

The Queen’s Nursing Institute’s TalktoUs telephone listening service has received a major funding boost from new charity Covid-19 Healthcare Support Appeal (CHSA).

The phone service offers emotional support to registered nurses working in the community, and primary and social care.

A grant of almost £49,000 was given by CHSA to expand the service.

The trained listeners are all Queen’s nurses who can speak to nurses about any aspect of their work or personal life in complete confidence.

Dr Crystal Oldman CBE, the QNI’s chief executive, said: ‘Concerns about the mental and emotional health of nurses have only grown as the third wave of the pandemic has worsened.’
