England: restoring care for children and young people

22 July 2020

NHS England has released further guidance on the Covid-19 restoration of community health services for children and young people.

A letter and annex was issued at the beginning of June, adhering to the second phase of the NHS response to Covid-19.

It supersedes the prioritisation guidance for community health services originally published in March and updated in April.

The letter stated the importance of children, young people and families receiving the care and support in the next phase.

The main difference for health visiting and school nursing was the move to ‘fully restore service, with some prioritisation where indicated and as capacity dictates’. Previously, they were under a ‘partial stop of service’.

Virtual contacts are still suggested for parts of the services.
