MacQueen 20th anniversary awards

09 May 2019

It is an amazing 20 years since the CPHVA Education and Development Trust was established following a bequest by Dr Ian MacQueen.

The MacQueen awards are designed to support practice development across all aspects of public health undertaken by members of the CPHVA.

To mark this special milestone, the CPHVA Education and Development Trust is funding four additional awards this year.

There will be four awards of £500 to individuals or teams, together with up to two paid-for places (per winning team) for CPHVA members at this year’s Unite-CPHVA Annual Professional Conference 2019 in Harrogate on 16 and 17 October.

The purpose of these awards is to celebrate the excellent public health practice that members of CPHVA deliver in each of the four countries of the UK. To this end, there will be one award for each country.

Do you know of an individual or team that:

  • Have made a difference to families and children?
  • Gone over and above what is expected in their role?
  • Represent the best of community health practice?

Nomination process

Anyone can nominate a team or individual providing the main nominee is a member of the CPHVA.

We require a maximum of 500 words on the following: Why do these practitioners deserve special recognition for their work?

Nominations forms can be downloaded from or email CPHVA trustees at [email protected] The closing date is 31 May 2019.
