The Role

We are looking for a Band 6 School Nurse for safeguarding to join our team within the Children and Families Services (School Nursing Service) division. The post is school and community based, at various sites as required by the needs of the service.

You will have named nurse responsibilities for mainstream schools and will manage the caseload and will have continuing responsibility for providing direct nursing care and training to parents and staff on management of medical issues for children attending the provisions.

You will work in partnership within a multi-agency team in assessing, reviewing and meeting the needs of children and young people by providing support to individuals, families and the community contributing to the well-being of pupils as measured by the every child matters outcomes being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making positive contributions and achieving economic well-being. The post holder will undertake health assessments, and provide specialist-nursing advice.

You must be:

• An exceptional communicator with parents, teachers and with other professionals/partnership organisations.
• Good planning, organizational and time management skills.
• Experienced in working with an ethnically diverse community/ organization.
• Experienced in the use of IT/RiO/power point/word processing packages
• Flexible, creative and capable of working autonomously to deliver the organization targets and objectives in a timely manner.
