Salary : Band 6 £30,246 - £36,504 BAR £37,697 - £40,974 pa

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Registered General Nurse and Specialist Community Practitioner to provide professional leadership and line management to a team of School Nurses in Guernsey and Alderney.

Key to this role will be providing school age children and their families with a service, which enables the children to attain their full potential in physical, mental and emotional health and educational achievement.

You will need to carry a caseload of school age children assessments, meeting their identified health needs, including the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse and referral to other professionals as required.

Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be key as you will operate as an autonomous specialist community practitioner, working in partnership with Paediatricians and in close liaison with other Health Care Professionals, Social Workers and Educationalists.

While leading the team, you will also need to train staff who have not previously worked in school nursing, in all procedures, including child protection and prepare, implement, monitor and update a 5-year plan for development of the service.
