Are you passionate and committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting effective outcomes for children, young people and families? Do you want to work for an organisation rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted that is making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people on a daily basis?

We are currently recruiting for a School Nurse for the School Nursing – Alternative Provision Team, to work 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Suffolk County Council delivers the 0 - 19 Healthy Child Service for the whole of Suffolk, which includes School Nursing, Health and Children's Centres, Family Nurse Partnership Services and our Health Business Centre.

This is an extremely exciting time to join School Nursing in Suffolk as we have invested heavily in our school nursing provision, increasing our staffing capacity to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. This additional resource will enable early identification of the needs of children and young people aged 5 - 19, within and outside of a school setting. We provide an enhanced offer to children and young people who are vulnerable, including those with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. You will work with children and young people, individually and in groups, to promote healthy lifestyles and resilience and improve public health outcomes.

It is essential that you hold a public health nurse qualification in School Nursing (SCPHN) or a Health Visiting qualification, with evidence of completing the migratory portfolio to School Nursing.

This may include:

Monday - Friday working
flexible hours
part time hours
a car leasing scheme.
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
